TABS Membership

We welcome you to join the Texas Association for Bariatric Surgery (TABS). Please review the criteria below and fill out an application online.


The criteria for Surgeons are:

1. must be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas,
2. must be board certified,
3. an active member of the ASMBS, and
4. regularly perform bariatric surgery in the state of Texas or a retired bariatric surgeon.

The criteria for Allied Health are:

1. must be licensed by the appropriate state agency for the health care field practice,
2. or is the chief administrative director of a bariatric program of a Surgeon Member and has met such eligibility criteria at least (2) years preceding the application for membership.
